The queen

The queen does everything a rook does and everything a bishop does: straight lines and diagonals, as far as the road is clear.

She is the strongest piece on the board. Be careful anyway: strong does not mean safe. A queen who wanders into the middle too early often gets chased around by far humbler pieces.

Your turn

Take the queen to h5, along the diagonal.
